"I’m starting my life after hockey. The first few years after the game passes you by are the most difficult from everyone I’ve talked to. It’s hard to adjust to not being important anymore, not focusing solely on yourself, not having those built in friendships and security blankets that come with being on a hockey team. I’m attempting to engage with people and see what I want to do with the second half of my life.
After the whole all star game shit show I was amazed at how much support I got. I’ve always been told I have a good personality and that I should do radio/tv. The problem with that is I now have 5 kids and that schedule is worse than the regular hockey season, so I’m trying to find a way to balance everything.
I’ve been around, and have a uniquely honest opinion that a lot of people don’t have. I really don’t care if I offend someone, and people seem to like that."
